- Louis Theroux joins British GQ in Actually Me, as he goes online to answer the internet’s questions. The British-American documentarian responds to questions from Twitter & Reddit, as well as replying to BRclip, TikTok & Instagram comments.
Louis Theroux reveals how he came up with the now-legendary ‘Jiggle Jiggle’ rap, which took the internet by storm after an appearance on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s ‘Chicken Shop Date’ BRclip series. ‘The money is jiggling-jiggling, hence wiggling-wiggling has quite a straightforward auditory association,’ says Louis Theroux. ‘I tell you what it isn’t… It’s not an exotic lounge scenario, where I’m flinging my money at the dancer.’ Watch the full episode as Louis Theroux goes undercover with British GQ in Actually Me.
The brand new Spotify Exclusive Podcast, ‘The Louis Theroux Podcast’ is available to stream now on Spotify, with new episodes landing every Tuesday.

Louie’s knowledge of UK rap is baffling, love that he’s a fan
yeah i had no clue he was mad deep in it too. Been watching him for years. What a champ
you're clearly a new Louis fan - if you go back to the old days of him talking to Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish in the pre-netflix days, they were way ahead of the curve
Punch you in the face stuff" 😂
He's been a big fan since his teenage years
@MannyJazzcats yeah it became evident when he made references to it.
Always been a big fan of Louis, his ability to come across as very naive always made his subjects drop their guard and reveal more than they otherwise would have. Very clever dude 👌
Socratic method.
I agree with that somewhat, but if you've seen his interviews, I'm sure you have, his demeanor is always calm, friendly and approachable. That seems to be his personality, rather than trying to trick his interviewee into opening up. He's has a benevolent personality, which lowers peoples guard.
Glad Louis is getting his due. The guy was making shows 20+ years ahead of his time - and was making them better than our generation can.
Ground-breaking stuff; so engaging and powerful yet also low-key and subtle.
Apart from electrical goods and waterproof clothing, everything was better made 20 years ago.
Nah, there are way better documentary makers, and have been his entire career. He's like the McIntyre/CBeebies of the genre, popular but not a great journalist.
@Tim Masters this statement is incredibly dismissive of the work theroux has done to turn taboo subjects into popular discussion. personally i don't think there's been a better gonzo journalist for a long time. also comparing him to a comedian and a children's programme just because they're popular is a bit of a dumb take to say the least.
I love how analytical he is over every detail, even when it comes to reading tweets. Brilliant bloke!
"National treasure" gets thrown around willy nilly, but Louis is a legit legend and doubtless national treasure.
Louis is so brilliant and interesting. I could listen to him talk all day ❤
He is a sneaky little rodent ...
@HEAT SEEKER aye alright buddy
The exec at the Beeb who put his name in the title of his first gig was insightful, the way Louis describes it I can easily picture how it happened along with the thought processes going on. Great interview.
Louis is very clever and has studied political philosophy and understands how circumstances affect individuals so he listens, really listens. He probably helps people improve.
Absolute living legend, was able to access people that would not otherwise open up and all through his beguiling innocent like charm that belies a sharp investigative mind. I like that he name checked Stacey Dooley too, she's cut from the same cloth
We know he's brilliant, for sure a national treasure. But I also love how he will raise others up so genuinely, whether its a grime artist or a fellow interviewer.
10:10 Love this bit. An "It's the end of the interview, here's the obligatory chance to plug your work" question, and Louis decides to shout out another documentarian.
His new podcast is really good, it’s nice he’s producing content in a different manner but still having his great interviewing skills. Hope his eyebrow recovers from his alopecia.
This man is an icon at this stage. Love him.
What a fabulous man, a true icon by ever sense of the word.
Louis is amazing. Could hear him talk all day.
Bot ...
Guess it’s been awhile!
I saw Louis on the tube in London recently and was awkwardly gawping at him for a moment as I confirmed it was him and then considered going up and saying something. Let’s hope him looking back at me a few times wasn’t him thinking that scientology was back on him. I’m sure his departure at the next stop was unrelated.
I wouldn't worry. Sure it happens to him all the time. He's used to it by now.
Louis is excellent, The most hated family in America, he shows compassion to people who never got any and it changed some of them. This simply is great, beyond the duty.
Exotic lounge scenario and Norwegian cruise ship singer audition….hilarious, the man’s a legend
"Inscribing your life on to destiny" - I love that. Louis remains as wonderful as always.
"Distinctive, that's better" I love this man and the pragmatic way that he sees through the cognitive disonance and conditionng 👏
I was so heart broken before watching this and then Louis saved the day. Need me a man like Louis 😮💨
If you had never seen Louis in anything you would never think he would be so great on camera.
Last xmas eve I arrvied at my mums for the holidays and she proceeded to make us watch a Louis doco on THE P*RN INDUSTRY for the next few hours. It was the most uncomfortable and funny xmas eve we've had in a while. 😂
I've heard covers of his rap song randomly and it always makes my day
Let's go Louis! I was like name drop Dave and he did!! My respect has sky rocketed! 👊
Funny how he was suprised that the BBC wanted to use his name, but seems to have forgotten that his father is a famous writer ... who got famous by writing many bestselling books about going to strange and interesting places and interviewing strange and interesting people ...
Oh, really? Huh. I guess he maybe got his interest in this from him. 😁
I doubt he forgot about his own father. Perhaps he just wanted to make his own name for himself and not use his father's name to get into TV.
Haven't missed a Louis documentary yet and I never plan to.
I simply adore this man
This man is genuinely good in every hood.
The analogy with saurons eye was great👍
The last run of Theroux docs were a bit off because he was uncharacteristically combatative instead of just letting the interviewee hang themselves. To be fair they'd presumably googled Louis beforehand, or were already very media literate, which probably makes the classic interview methods less effective.
Hip-Hop Connection is something I’ve not heard of for a long time. A long time. I worked on their website. We called it Hip-Op Connection in the office, but mostly when joking about the other chap who worked on the site with me who we affectionately called Grandad.
this is just hiding down here in the comments
I think the closing remark of people he's interviewed being actors in their own drama is a selection bias, they're the ones being interviewed. Lots of people out there that happily take a supporting role, or even a behind the scenes role in life :)
2:46 cant be worst than theater audition you did for that broadway episode 😁
I love that he wants a tattoo of himself 😂
God, he's funny.
This is excellent- so glad my favourite is out here in these streets THRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolute legend
It wouldn't matter if they tried to take the Westboro kids into care because their whole family are all very powerful lawyers. That's how they've lasted so long.
I wish he could stop being so goddang adorable for 2 minutes.
He's just a sound dude in every way
This dude is UNDISPUTED 💪
"if you take a chill pill" i love this dude
I'd have liked to ask Louis his impressions of Elliot Smith.
Yeah when I saw you auditioning to perform for that cruise company I just thought “this guy has the biggest balls”.
Love the Stacey Dooley shout out - she's amazing.
She really isn't.
@80s Musicshe is compared to the rest of the bbc
Been a fan ever since I moved to the UK in the 90s and watched Weird Weekend, the branding worked.
He clearly hasn't heard of REN yet as he is probably the best British musician now and for the future.
Love him.
Weird Weekends is some of the best television ever produced.
I’m going undercover…IT’S ME !
(Love Louis )
Louis shouting out Nines and NW10, big up 🔥
Can’t believe he didn’t give any love to Pete and Bas as top UK lyricists
Considering they don’t write their own lyrics I don’t see why he would 🤣
@KkkkkkDon't do this to me
I'd like Louis to get a tattoo of Park Ranger Louis 😅
i wish Louis Theroux was our prime minister 😭
I have all the DVDs of him and i think the Jimmy savile one is the best doc
I wanna see Louis tattoo himself that would be dope
Real ones know him from “only money that I want” 🇿🇦
Louis let me tattoo you
That is one fresh shirt Mr Theroux is wearing.
I had a cat named after Louis 😊
Not sure why Louis is approving someone getting a tatto of Will from the Inbetweeners?
that was really interesting 👍🏻
No weird people just different normality
Surprisingly deep hiphop knowledge
Louis Theroux is the goat
I'd imagine money that jiggles isn't allowed to be thrown at exotic dancers.
I didn’t expect Louis to shout of Nines loool dope
I'd never heard of Louis until the Tom Cardy song "Get Louis Theroux it" but i like him!
The GOAT himself!!!
“I also enjoy seeing your sexy moves” 😂
Louis Theroux's Peculiar Podcast - missed a trick there
I wanna know if Louis likes Cench
National treasure 🫶🏼

Dead
😂 no
they called it "louis theroux's weird weekends" so we knew that you weren't alan whicker!
Louis has become more opinionated over time. Nothing wrong with that - just very different
john carter of mars is at least 10 times, if not 100's of times better than what hollywood has been cranking out these past five years...
Calm down. It may be better than critics and the viewing public give it credit, but it's only 10 times better than, say, the worst film ever made.
Isn’t the point of going undercover to not let people know it’s you? You said going undercover and then instantly made an account with your full name
Absolutely love Stacey Dooley!!
He produces some of her stuff, so possibly a secondary motive for promoting her...
@mankytoes either way, her vibe is great. I’ve been a journo for years and really appreciate how she connects with people
"that's to do with the wiggling, not the jiggling" :D
I am gobsmacked that that’s his voice in the jiggle jiggle song.
I thought he was just some guy who made documentaries and got famous enough to be on Pointless Celebrities.
everyone's a content creator nowadays
Did he cuss us with that exit line?
I'll say what Louis will not, something Andrew Gold revealed: The BBC has basically stopped giving straight, white men who do documentaries of the kind Theroux and Gold do work. This is why Theroux has had to go off and do a podcast instead, start up his own company and it's why Andrew Gold had to do the same. It's horrific what diversity and equity regulations are doing to our entertainment. That's the real answer to the question about us getting more Louis Theroux on BBC television - We won't because he's the wrong race and wrong sexuality. Disgraceful.
Love you Theroux
Louis talking about rap, using phrases like "repping" and "came up" is frankly embarrassing.
Why? He's knowledgable on the subject, why shouldn't he talk about it?
Why is it, just because he's relatively well spoken, he's not allowed to use certain words or talk about certain subjects without it being embarrassing? Get in the bin
@Meekle58 No thanks, you look very comfortable in there on your own.
@tbone35453 Can’t really hear you down there, I think you need to open the bin lid
Frankly, you're embarrassing with this comment.
10:38 Craig David didn't live in the hotel, he just NoClipped out of reality and got stuck in the backrooms!
Be funny if Justin had the tattoo of cousin Louie.
John Carter is actually a decent movie crippled by a huge budget and terrible marketing!
ok but Louis Theroux is so hot like
He reminds me of a british Jeff Goldblum
It's Theroux, huh? I always pronounced it Theroux.
Interestingly, he pronounces it Theroux but his cousin does pronounce it Theroux.
I thought the H was silent, as in Thompson or Theron.
Dude, it’s pronounced ‘Theroux’.
It’s not ‘Theroux’, it’s pronounced ‘Theroux’
Y'all pronuncing pronounced wrang.
4:50 what a lovely tattoo of Harry Potter
Hey Louis, I hate to break it to me, but that tattoo on the persons arm looks more like Velma from Scooby Doo than it does like you!
Lol is this guy a comedian? 😂😂
I was beginning to feel omnipotent.
Love him but he went to the BBC, and that’s how he made his career, and we all know how the BBC has being doing lately, even after he exposed Saville
His podcast is exclusive to Spotify? Ugh. No thanks. Wish I could listen in my normal podcast app
I'm sorry but you guys call yourself British GQ yet, in the subtitles, you say Halston instead of Harlesden. Cmon guys lol
1:50 fantastic
