Joke aside, if he were to play a superhero in a Marvel or DC movie, or both, here’s my picks. For Marvel (I know you all want him to play Hulkling, myself included) I can picture him playing as either the Scarlet Spider, Captain Britain, or a young Eros. For DC I can picture him as Tim Drake in a future The Batman movie or spin-off series set in that universe, and/or Wally West.
@Craig Harvey-Gurr Seeing him in a marvel movie would be cool (especially since Joe is in the MCU now) but we don’t really know if he can even do an American accent right? And as for Captain Britain I’m pretty sure that character is way too old for Kit. Kit would have to play a teenager seeing as he’s only 18-19 yrs old himself. Hulkling does seem perfect tho.

they literally finished filming in december, have patience! if we're lucky we might get a release date within the next month. i think we could expect the second season anytime from mid-late june to early september if we're lucky (this is if we go from the post-production speed from when season 1 filming finished which i believe was in august/september 2021, so it took around 7-8 months.)

2:34 I noticed the "You look -- your hair looks great." To me it showed his real feelings coming out, but then he's hesitating because he's not ready to confront those feelings himself, much less share them with other people. His heart spoke first but then his brain said, "No, not yet."

That was a “be a man” (meaning a straight man) edit right in the moment. I think many of us in the LGBTQ community did that edit in our heads before speaking-that is, before coming out. So, I have a feeling more people noticed it than Kit thinks.

my little brother is 8 (i’m bout to turn 18). he was able to confess to me he had a crush on a boy in his class because of this show. obviously, the responsible thing to do as a big sis was to purchase the four books for his birthday (he loves comics also). it just meant the entire world to me, i will never forget it. we promised to watch season two together when it comes out (pun intended)💌

@John King he is my ray of sunshine☀️ i’m really happy he watched heartstoper, in his school there’s a lot of boys who resemble the bullies on the show, and for a while he wanted to be like them. it’s hard for boys so young to make friends without imitating the homophobia and violence the older ones feel so proud of. i hope this means he’ll choose kindness tho, he’s still so young.
@Azul For someone so young to appreciate Heartstopper just shows you how powerful a show it truly is. I never thought someone as young as 8 would ever need Heartstopper, but your story changed that. Wow. What a good family you are. Shame there are many other families who are not as open, warm and welcoming you are.
@John King shows like this one let kids see themselves in people they were taught were so different to them. now a boy liking a boy doesn’t sound like a thing to make a joke out of, but a heartwarming story that he connects with. it can change everything. it was nice talking with you💞

kit saying that heartstopper is a rose colored view on life is so accurate, and that’s what i love about it. i love escaping the realities of life where my parents don’t accept me and to just live vicariously through nick and charlie

allow me to disagree with you - this is not a "rosy view of life", it is about hope, about the fact that miracles happen in life, and I know that at least two people on our earth have experienced such an incredible love. I think this is the reason why I fell so in love with the show, its a fantasy of what I think all of us want our life to be (or wish it had been for those who came out/were outed and received the worst reaction ever.)

I can really see Joe looking more mature in this video. Kit of course looks older, especially with the little beard. But Joe, he just seems a lot mature now. Still cute and adorable, but of course it is now around 2 years since they filmed season one, he has aged, but he still looks stunning.
I was just thinking that Joe's voice sounds deeper in this video. And he does look a bit more mature here. Fun to watch them all grow up in this series.
@Lynn Hettrick Yes, that is what I saw too. We tend to forget, both Kit and Joe were around 17 when they filmed the first season in 2021. Both of them will be 19 now, with Kit's birthday next month in March. Those two years did have an affect, as they are still growing up and maturing. Joe looks even more handsome, and as for Kit ... I am weak just looking at him with his beard

I've wondered and worried whether that awfulness had spoiled Kit's experience being Nick. I hope not.
@Lynn Hettrick I think we all had the same worry. But Kit being the consummate professional makes me optimistic that it'll be fine. A less experienced actor might've let it mess him up.
It wouldn't have stopped him from being part of the show. At the very least, he's under contract with them that I'm sure lasts for a few seasons. "I was forced to come out before I was ready" isn't the type of excuse that would get him written off the show and recast no matter how it made him feel.
I just love them!! Heartstopper is such a warm embrace, giving hope and inspiration. Hope we all will go more into this direction: Love is stronger than fear. Thank you so much for this!
I'm 37, bi-sexual male and Kit Connor and Joe Locke mean everything to me, Heartstopper means everything to me. This show changed my life for ever and helped me to accept who I am today. And I thank these beautiful actors and Alice Oseman for this amazing show.
Hey. 28 years old bisexual here and I was wondering if it made sense for me to be so much touched by the show's poetry when it concerns the life of teenagers. But I think for me it's precisely this period of my life (adolescence) that was the most affected by the unacceptance of homosexuality. Wish I were born 15 years after or that I had seen a show or read a book like this when I was younger. I am fully out for years but this show helps healing the past injures. Happy for your growth and wish you all the best man!
@Lambda Exactly, I come from a Christian family, and they didn't like homosexuality at all, so I basically stayed in the closet until early 30s, I haven't been out that long. But my parents accepted me now, my mother slightly more than my father. But this show helped me a lot somehow too understand myself. Thanks for your reaction and I wish the best for you too.

I watched this WHOLE show 7 times in I think 3 days and I still love it with all my heart. I'm so darn excited for the new season to come out! Nick and Joe are genuinely just amazing people and so are the rest of the cast. This whole entire show is just extraordinary and Echo is just the cutest dog ever. As an 11 year old, this whole show actually teaches me something and other people things as well. Can't wait for the new season xo

Kit is so humble. I'm as obsessed with Olivia Colman as the next person but Kit was the star of that coming out scene to me.. Loved how when he was gushing about Olivia as usual "She's so good", Joe made it a point to be like "YOU are so good"

This show didn’t just help young people. I am almost 43 and I wish so much that things had been like this back when I was a teen…the resources out there now for young people discovering themselves are so much better. This series broke my heart and mended it in a thousand different ways and I can’t wait for series 2.

This is such a beautiful interview and exactly the right time to make it. It’s allow the dust to settle after the huge success on its release and the near year Kit and Joe have had since, some of it turbulent. They both seemed at ease and comfortable in themselves talking about it all.

The coming out scene was also the only reason that I came out to my mom. I knew logically on my head she wouldn’t care but I believed that she would hate me so I never did and that scene helped me come out and it went kind of like that minus I wasn’t dating anyone. My mom even said I’m sorry if I made you feel like you couldn’t tell me
Exactly this! I felt my mom would be okay with it, but there was something telling me that she wouldn't. The coming out scene made me comfortable enough to tell her and she said was happy and she just wanted me to be happy.
im not kidding when i say this show saved my life. i was going through some really rough stuff and it felt so good to see something pure and happy. made me believe in good again seriously.
A thoroughly enjoyable interview by these two lads. Down to earth and I didn’t really notice the time fly by in this segment. I’m psyched for season 2. Oh I’m sure Netflix is gonna have some record breaking numbers or at least a top 5 hit in their hands when they release it.
These two are such gems. The way that they protay these characters just so wholesome and it gives me hope that future generations can just be rather than have to come out and explain who they are.

The fact that Kit thought we missed the slip up shows how our comments on social medias give the actors a perception of the reality that isn't necessarily true. I got all excited the first time I heard the slip up (and every time I rewatch the show tbh). Well written by Alice Oseman and great acting by Kit!

One of the great things about talented actors is that they can play the complete opposite to who they are in real life. Cormac is such a sweet person in real life, complete opposite to Harry

1:36 is such a beautiful and kind of sad moment. Kit Connor saying how closely Nick’s character is true to real life, implying that everyone expects Nick to be straight and how he might be in that same space. It was rough to see fans clamoring for him to define his sexuality before he may have been ready.
i just realised how similar it was to his own experience.. he was literally forced to come out because people couldnt believe he could be bi.

I loved this. Their faces are so expressive and you can just sort of get a real feeling of their emotions during those scenes. Love it. Can't wait for Season 2.

Couldn't agree more with Joe, heartstopper tackles real life issues but with an optimistic lens. Alot of people where watching it and be like it's not realistic but after a while fell in love with the show. Because it is what you want the world to be
I don't think Kit or Joe (or Alice or Euros) will ever fully comprehend the magnitude of the impact they've had. They've changed lives, probably more than we (or they) even think.
That aside, how are they ever gonna top this?? Obviously their careers will continue and flourish, but right now I have trouble imagining either of them in roles that will make Heartstopper a secondary achievement! 😎

If I could and met Kit at any point I would tell him that the scene where Nick tells Charlie his hair looks great was definitely something I picked up on. I definitely recognised straight away that Nick nearly slips up and tells him that he looks great, not the hair. He went into full bi panic for a second there for sure 🤣 Basically it didn't go over my head if it helps!
