Kano’s acting was on another level this season I hope he gets more roles in the future
He’s starring in Daniel Kaluuya’s directorial debut. It’s going to debut at the London film festival, apparently it’s a sci-fi film.
He impressed me man. He told a story with his facial expressions and eyes. Unreal.
Kano been on that method acting for a minute. He’s genuinely grown into the devil
Xd
His insights are actually really accurate with what most of the audience thought while watching, nice
fr man
Maybe cause he acted in it
@Elektrik YT buddy even if he acted in it he still could’ve gave some bias insight on the show… he was honest
@Mowopotrue some actors have a kind of disconnect with scenes sometimes
Him and kano had a massive role in shaping the story because they wanted it to feel real and like the first two original seasons. They’re more than just actors in the show
I loved Jamie as a character but if you’re sending death threats to actors because of a show you need to rethink your life
But…. But..There was constructive criticism in my death threats
@First Last😂
It was SI and the gang bro. Jamies goons
This has happened to actors for decades
Lol people can’t detach
I'm so so proud of Stef for not doing Sully in. Jamie raised him right
I thought I’m the only one
Uhh I’m not sure if you’re sarcastic
It’s a tv show…
No jamie tried sooo hard as you see he did😊
Big up Ashely, Kano, Ronan (writer) and later Drake for bringing us such a fantastic excellent show.
zesty aubrey
Ronan ruined s3
@Yung Atz Official😂😂😂😂
zesty drizzy
He was definitely right about the riot!! Great show on a whole.
Facts felt so forced in
Yep. Most people felt like random extras and not local people.
@Alvin Gratzerwhole show had terrible writing tbh
Netflix woke boy
@PatrickCollins-or3ne how tho...
Kano's eyes have a 100 layers to them expressing regret sadness confusion and anger. The best actors can express deep emotions without words. He's going to go far.
This season touched on Community, addiction, parenting, loyalty, the issues with the home office, and the fact that both Sully and Dushane needed each other like brothers who fall out but still brothers
Too much of it imo. Netflix always have to add their agenda though
Woke boy
Coming from a rough area, I felt connected to this show as a teenager, and even used it at a study case for representations of race and class on screen at uni. Sad to see it come to an end, but what a show! Thank you
Im from NYC and this series set in the UK could have been a literal documentary of life in Flatbush Brooklyn during the 70s and 80s where there was always a Dushane or a Sully with Summer house and the ZT s
Same I used to b in the game, what I really liked about Top Boy was it never glamorised the drug life. You saw the real stress n pain that comes with that game!
Ashley and Kano will always be the goat for being in this show. It was great to hear his insights with the scenes as well. And he’s 100% right about shows having too many seasons losing what made people watch to begin with and pushing a cause that can feel forced. But they did it well here. You could feel the W of them saving Kieron from immigration. Also Jamie and Jaq were great additions loved them both.
Dushane’s death was so sad man. He was truly between a rock and a hard spot and desperately trying to escape. Not saying he was a good guy by any means but just like Sully, circumstances made them change.
i just hate the fact that those two women gaffled him for that 16m... but such is the life.
What do you mean
I agree. I thought the death scene was way too long tho ahhaha like they needed to get the Minutes up but still 10/10
Bro coulda just sell his range rover@Sulaymaan Kingseed
@Sponge Bunnylol true. didn’t think of that.
That’s what I love about top boy, it’s authenticity. Brutal scenarios that people will be involved with. Jamie’s death is a perfect example. There is shock, sadness and anger in that life and unfortunately it does happen in real life. Really enjoyed top boy as a whole, summerhouse burning and rioting was also very akin to how Dushane and sully ended, burning, broken and the end.
Was authentic season 1 and 2 it turned into Hollywood
@Yessirexactly with the use of guns and shooting since when does gun and shooting become soo regular in Uk. Especially when handguns are prohibited in the Uk. This ain’t America! It became too Americanised
@JEFFREY NANA TAKYI COLLINSNawh the hand guns made sense. But the big guys with military guns was weird 😂
I need my lauren back dooooshane
I’m deadddd😂😂🤣🤣
Bring me my laurens
She’s kharrying myyy chiiild
Where's my Lauren 🤣🤣🤣
I love this show so much I wish there was gonna be more to it. I’ve waited impatiently for this last season lol it’s so good man. Do you ever feel like you can’t rewatch something because it was SOOOO good. That’s how I feel about this. It’s weird but I feel like I’ve gotten everything I needed from this show.
Nah its too good to not watch over again a did from summer house and am glad a did 💯
Can we all agree Kano is a top tier actor
"If we're not monsters, we're food, and I could never be food" - sully
Kindly expound on it
They definitely got the vibe right in not glamorising it but making it feel a community. Great show.
Dushane was actually one of my favourite characters. Cool, calculated and logical. He’s still top boy in my eyes. His death genuinely made me cry- there’s no top boy without summerhouse Sully and Dushane
Cap Jamie was a better man than both of them combined
Cool, calculated and logical, which is precisely why this season was rubbish. He was none of those things this season.
@India Ninjalol u deffo didn’t watch the original top boy
His death was poor. They should have done better. He was top boy and should Have been given a better ending.
@M I watched it and yeah they were the best in that show, but if you compare how they are in the new show compared to Jamie it's not a competition on who Top Boy should be.
Decent ending and it couldn’t of ended any other way. It feels rushed to me, however Asher D and Kano did a phenomenal job acting. 8/10
8/10 is soooo funny to me it was barley a 4/10
First 4 episodes were dry east Enders type drama with no real purpose
it was reaaaaalllly rushed. 6 episodes aswell. what a let down
my thoughts exactly. killed johnny off way too fast and the whole plot seemed more focused on the issues in the summerhouse estate than dushane & sully.
@Gmans Hairline4/10 is way too high, this season was an embarrassment to the entire series.utterly garbage -1/10
A massive respect to everyone on that shop, actor's, writers, & directors, it was top draw from start to finish. Ashley seems like a cool guy, not sure why Kano doesn't do more acting, he took it to another level in the last 3 seasons. Right to end it on a high, before people got bored of it.
Honestly i dont care what you all say that was the perfect ending seeing Summerhouse finally go downhill and watching Dushane break and fall apart the way he did was sad but perfect of course we've never seen Dushane break and loose his mind like that hes normally the smart one and the more composed one but he lost his money which made him loose his power which caused him to loose his mind and in the end he panicked way too much and just didnt think straight couldn't even trust his own brother to help him so he had to rob him and done himself over and Sully just got what he had coming to him same with Dushane but instead of Sullys being sad and tragic like Dushanes Sullys was more violent and a karma type moment perfect ending
Define loose
1. not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached.
"a loose tooth"
@Cori Hanson I fink yu mayd sum spelleng mistaks
@Pabloi tink yous dyd 2
@PN MUSIC noe I neva I doint mak mestaykes
Absolutely top class show..so sad it has ended
Bought in reality
I appreciated the story lines because it gave a root cause and showed development. I also hope people give him the room to tell more stories , different stories, different genres etc
it is unbelievable that Kano didnt get any awards for playing Sully
Just watched from the start from Summerhouse with Ra nell to current. I'm on episode 3 on this last season. Ashley and Kano great actors. Ashley said half the cast never did acting before. Well they had me hooked. Excellent cast and amazing story. I like Dushane but man to ring the cops to end the war was snakey 🐍. But it won them through war I guess. Jac if she was straight I'd love to go out with a girl like her because she the most loyal out of the whole main cast.
I loved the ending. A lot of nuances and metaphors that really glued it all together.
I liked the feeling that nobody was safe, and anyone could die. Reflects the situation and setting well, loved the show as a whole 👌
The drugs game
One of the best things Ive ever watched. With 2 main characters gone i cant see how it could continue. Thank you for making such a fantastic series...but deep down i wish there was more and more and more!
i’m glad they understand not to extend the show because it does get boring but i think a spin-off would be good
If you didn’t see “Blue Story” yet, I would recommend it. Has a similar setting with some of the same actors
Ashely is a great actor you can really feel his intensity in a lot of his scenes.
I loved it all, wish there was more. Thanks for such a good show
It was actually one of, if not the only show ive ever watched where the ending is actually decent. It wasn't unrealistic or forced like other tv shows. Can't think of anything i would have done different. Great show
Yh the Hollywood ending probably would of gone like this
Obviously sully killed Dushanbe
Then Stefan kills sully an and takes the bags of gear of him an becomes the next top boy
Leaving it open for a fourth season that’s my opinion tho I thought it would be that way but glad it weren’t
I liked the new season for the entertainment factor but honestly, the story wasn't there. Dushanes heart problem didn't exist in the final few moments of his life, the undercover officers didn't appear again and characters just went missing without any arc. I'm happy but kinda dissapointed because I loved season 1 and 2
Farah and Aaron
Would the undercover po have to identify themselves first otherwise to dushane it’s just 2 random people chasing him lol
It seemed like a lot of it was cut out and shortend to give it more action and less story like it had done in the first two seasons
@Adrian Krajnikyes biggest mistake they made
@Naz IslamAaron was too busy studying bro
Loved top boy , just amazing. Well done everyone who was involved . Epic
Big up to the Top Boy cast been doing this for a very long time and always entertaining us❤
i agree with him on the riot scenes. Its just not possible to have every actor and extra on the same level where they all look like they were genuinely effected by what led them to riot in the first place
Ashley is a gem and a talent :)
these two are so talented,I do hope they have a future project together to showcase their talents further💪
What’s the weirdest thing to me about this show is that they got Barry Keoghan in to do like 3 scenes as a small actor and he was delighted to do it even though he’s an Oscar nominated actor on more than one occasion I think and he’s good friends with the Weeknd 😂
Introduces himself to a new audience, why not
I didn't know of him before top boy so this is definitely good for him, a new audience
@Tyson Briggs 100% although he’s the Joker in the next Batman movie so he’ll be an A Lister very soon. If you haven’t seen any of his movies I’d recommend the Banshees of Inisherin and the Killing of a Sacred Deer. I think he was Oscar nominated for both of those
I didn't get his accent? Did he improv it? I've never heard such an Irish accent? Is he from a remote town? lol
I agree with him about shows generally going on too long and becoming stale, but I think they could have done so much more with Top Boy before getting anywhere near the point of being stale. 5 seasons in a decade? Why?
That being said, the final season did give off a vibe that they just wanted to be done with it though. I’ll definitely be looking out to see what work Kano is doing, brilliant stuff from him 👏🏼
Definitely could’ve gotten to atleast 7 seasons before being stale. Also probably could’ve made more episodes per season, a lot of story line was rushed or missed out. Like the smack heads that were under cover feds, where were they? Definitely need a spin off series 👏
Where’d u get decade from? Its 5 seasons in a decade not 3?
@cherrydollshow started in 2011 on Channel 4. Moved to netflix like 5 years after channel 4 cancelled it.
They got room for a movie. I'd love to see how Ra'nell's story wrapped up.
@cherrydoll oh you’re right it is 5. No idea where I got 3 from but point still stands
Such a good show wish there was another season
Kano was on point this season. Calm and collected. Give Kane Robinson more roles man
Well said. He is amazing all round, from touching the mic to acting.💯.He was TOP BOY! ( Props to Jaq too) and the whole cast, but for me Kano was THE outstanding character and actor👊
Brilliant acting, but the writing was poor this season.
3:17 It’s kinda mad hearing Ashley say that cause it shows the theory I had was correct of the actors having issues with the script like Kano and Hope Ikpoku, Aaron’s actor, had. Mad to hear even Ashley had an issue with the script but makes sense when you see how it turned out.
Honestly cause we all had an issue with the story
i love how focused he is on the art of film making
Imagine how perfect this final season would have been if they had given the show four more episode's, used the irish more, given everybody endings, written jaq better
Season 3 was brilliant. So much action and drama. It ended the way it supposed to end. No need for a new season. This was the final chapter of the story.
Big up ashley and the rest of the set from top boy the series has been a joy to watch
Loved this series and the actors involved, all the parts were so well cast and the story was very gripping however I can’t help feeling this last season was very rushed. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed it still but I don’t think it should’ve ended as it did. I think the final scene would have been more powerful if Dushane got nicked. It seemed cheap to end how it did
Sully killing the feds in Spain felt like it was going to go to another level this season however it didn’t quite get there. Last season was so good. Can’t help feel underwhelmed
Just finished watching season 3… amazing! 🤩 Great storylines, acting, emotion… shame it’s come to an end.. Legendary!! 👊🏼👊🏼
this season was terrible mate
It was terrible lol
The show ended in a way that made nobody happy but that's the road life... it rarely ever ends well or with a happy ending, it can easily be written to have them both return, the guy who was supposed to get dushane out could have sent 2 more men immediately after not receiving a text saying he was picked up, they could find and save dushane... as for sully, he could come back with half of his face gone 😂 can happen... not that anyone wants to see it any more
Oh please this ain't Money Heist
@Dadung Rpj never seen it so that's over my head
Loved the previous seasons but the last one felt rushed with a weak plot. Pity
I agree
the plot was perfect. couldn't have ended better imo
@jdjookin _ glazing
I agree I said it on my review but it felt like a money grab
@jdjookin _they killed off the irish in 3 episodes and jaq steals the supplies and then gives them back, wow great plot.
Great show, great acting and great production. Going to miss it.
I still reckon they should make a pre summerhouse series, where you see dushane and sully as kids being mates and rising up the ranks
No seems like u just don’t know how to let go met
Very articulate, I’ve never heard him speak at length before
From So Solid to Top Boy, he’s done it all
Personally, I loved TOP BOY! It thought that is was fascinating. I really enjoyed myself. I hated that it came to an end. I would love to see these characters involved in another series somewhere. Dushane was my favorite character from the series. He was a good actor. Also, I must say that he is also so very sexy. Plus, an accent too! TOP BOY will be greatly missed. Peace.
I legit Found out about this Show in July of this year. The fact I had to wait 2 months for the last season to come out was excruciating. Imagine Waiting Years 😂😂😂😂 Damnnmnnn
he debriefed this so well everything he said was going through my mind when i was watching the show
I agree. Too many subjects addressed in the finale. Each story could have been a series on its own. I hope there are some spinoffs. Was Still hoping Ra Nell would show up somehow. 😂
Was a tough ending but amazingly done
Show was absolute❤️🔥🎯❤️🔥 fire, the implosion of the characters and circle of life and karma is a bullet from a gun with the crocodile tears...sad but true👏🏾
I don’t think Season 3 is their best season - but dear god, is it good. Well done!
One of the best series ever made hands down 🏆
I respect how they ended the show, they could’ve dragged it but it wouldn’t have been the same. Very good series.
Can’t wait to see what they both do next!
I’m really going to miss Top Boy. I hope that all of the characters will return on Americans screen soon. ❤️🖤💚
man i hated sully for 95% of the show and like Kano's acting is so good that i literally would have to remind myself that this is a show 😂😂😂
Love the show! So sad to see it end! I guess have to watch it repeatedly. Much love from Brooklyn 🇺🇸 by way of 🇯🇲
Great ending to the show and insight by Ashley, smart guy that clearly knows about the streets
WHY IS JAQ NOT TALKED ABOUT. SHE LITERALLY HELD THE SHOW TOGETHER. WITHOUT HER HALF THE VIEWERS WOULD BE GONE.
Nah. She was a good character, but her storyline was dragged too much.
Nah she should’ve got clip in season 2
@Yrn Tmoney well she didn't. She's the only one that survived. She's the top boy.
Seen some people disappointed but this season was really great imo
shame new seasons didnt live up to expectations but still a great show
He seems like such a nice guy, wish hin nothing but the best
I think they did both have to die, the amount of enemies that Sully espcially made. It's realistic that they got caught up eventually. Should have been at least 2 more episodes though
He’s so right about the riot, all the extras looked like GTA npc’s, it’s usually the case in most scenes with a lot of extras, feels not genuine at all, some of them kinda even look at the cameras and stuff. Best to keep it with professional actors.
Love dushane he’s a super smart guy he directed some of it and wow I always had a feeling the markets were actually just people going about there day it’s what makes the show authentic
I love both dushane and sully.. I hope to see the both in future films
I’m gonna miss this show so much it was my child hood Ashley walters Kano have been killing it for years man it just kept getting better but the potential was wasted the acting was so good it’s just the decision from end of s2 and onwards got abit ruined it’s so sad it’s done they shouldn’t of killed off Jamie it didn’t lead anywhere steff could of been a bad man if Arron died Arron was no where to be seen
We need more seasons
Appreciate y’all hard work was a great season
What a series it’s been not going to lie I’m going to miss it hard hitting proper tv series no bubble gum made up stuff .
He sounds completely different in real life, wow what an actor 👏
Everytime he said 'furthermore...' on Topboy I laughed. The British are so articulate. Furthermore.....😂
What a talent ❤
Kano’s acting deserves an award, Jaq character development was a bit sideways, the whole stef and erin thing was just filler really, rather than listing everything basically the season could have had at least 3-4 more episodes even if it had the same ending at the very least flesh out the storyline more because it felt extremely rushed like you just wanted to get it out and be done with it. No true love was put into it as it was for the first 4 seasons
There is no right answer to who killed Sully. It’s basically Schrodingers Cat - every time you open the box it’s another enemy that’s killed him
Yeah, totally agree. Had a chat at work today and we all had different ideas. Well we’ll never know. The Irish boys, surely! 😊
@Sitting Bull jaq 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah I knew they were gonna do it that way the moment Stef spared him. There's 3 likely killers:
1) Jaq - Sully straight up said that she and her family will never be safe or spared + Revenge for Kieron.
2) The Irish - It was stated multiple times that the Irish gang are bigger than the small group we got to see in the show. There's no way that repercussions wouldn't come back to Sully.
3) Simon from ZT - Sully straight up violated him in front of his whole crew AND Stef told him that Sully was the one who killed Jamie (his close friend).
I guess the whole message of the ending is pretty realistic, you live that kind of life and it's only a matter of time before you get smoked for your past actions. It doesn't even matter who did it really.
Exactly. The perfect ending for Sully since he had made so many enemies over the season.
that’s crazy
That little ending there was a sign of how the show needed more time before you wrapped it up 😅
The one thing i think they forgot to use was dushanes heart disease they really used it last season and then this season they brought it back for one scene and then next episode dushane is running all around london and summerhouse.
Crazy to think that Kieran getting deported would have actually saved his life.
Kano should do what Ashley has done and do music part time and out acting first. Such a superb actor.
He's right about avoiding stuff like riots, it did come across as fake and tame. A bit much for the ending backdrop as well.
i feel like the third season had alot of good ideas but was too short to fully flesh them out, especially with jaq stealing the drugs and lauren dying so quick, as well as the irish being so easily killed.
one of the best shows i have seen for a long time!! Gritty and realistic. well done
This story is so shocking that it was real wow 🔥
The final season felt dragged and rushed, sad as I really enjoyed the other seasons. Just a shame how this is what we're gonna remember Top Boy for. It is what it is I guess.
Rushed especially… 😤
They just wanted it to end.
Have you ever seen an episode so in tense as the last episode though ? I get your point but it was entertaining and never a scene wasted.
when Sally killed Jamie I wasnt happy either, but love for the show and love for Sully kept me stuck to the screen.
Hahaha that last little bit at the end makes me still think there’s a possible season 4
Sending death threats is out of pocket for real. Those individuals need to go and touch some grass and smell the air instead of being so attached to this show.
Felt like they tried to rush this season into 6 episodes and also felt they could have done alot more with the plot and give the new characters some extra screen time to shine instead of killing them off after a few episodes
Ahh so many things were just forgot about this season
Top Boy could of been a huge worldwide franchise
No other show like it on tv. Absolute class series
There is multiple shows like it…this show was mid after the 3rd season
Wiz it aye 😂😂.
